So, now some pictures of the Blocks, to illustrate how varied they can appear, both from the prime spot at the top of the harbour wall ladder, which gives the best view of its geometry, and from other less frequently favoured angles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, the breakwater looking mysterious in the mist …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, catching the low winter sun, with the St Monans Kirk visible in the background …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, maybe a lower tide, showing the rocks on which it was built – and the concrete blocks that predate the breakwater, hence its locally preferred name …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And one from a different angle, of the end of the pier, with the Bass Rock in the background …<\/p>\n\n\n\n
